Since 2009, the Iowa Pharmacy Association has worked collaboratively with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy and other key stakeholders to create a statewide, pharmacy-based solution to appropriate medication disposal of unused, expired medications. This strategy has evolved to offer different options for disposal at local pharmacies or at local law enforcement facilities.
SafeNetRx
The Iowa Pharmacy Association has partnered with SafeNetRx to provide EcoReturns medication disposal units in participating community-based pharmacies across Iowa.
