USP seeks pharmacists’ input through Sterile Compounding Practices Survey
5/23/2012

Sterile compounding facilities a

Sterile compounding facilities are currently invited to participate in the 2012 USP Compliance Study.  The study is a National Study of Sterile Compounding Practices which is open now through June 30, 2012.  The study was first conducted in 2011, serving as the largest and most comprehensive 797 compliance study within the United States.  Researchers are looking to repeat the study once again a year from now, after the USP Expert Committee makes the newest chapter changes.  The final changes are expected to happen in late 2013.

In return for participation, detailed action plans will be automatically generated for facilities based upon specific survey answers.  Researchers hope to gain more insight into the successes and challenges relative to USP 797.  All individual facility results are confidential, with only aggregate data being used in the study report.  The results of the study report will be published in Pharmacy Purchasing & Products Magazine this fall.  The survey can be taken at the following link:  www.797study.com, using the surveycode B797A.
