Mark your calendars for
National Poison Prevention Week,
March 14 - 20.
This
is an important
annual event.
More than 2 million poisonings
are reported each year to poison control centers across the US.
The Iowa Statewide Poison Control Center (ISPCC) is dedicated to providing
Iowa residents
and health care providers with the most up-to-date information and 24-hour
assistance relating to poisonings. National Poison Prevention Week, March
14-20, provides the ideal opportunity to remind Iowans about poison prevention
as well as provide information about potentially hazardous situations that exist
in their own homes.
FREE poison prevention
materials, including phone stickers and brochures, are available by calling the
ISPCC’s Education Coordinator, Tammy Noble, at 712-279-3717 or by visiting the
ISPCC web site at
www.iowapoison.org/index.asp?pageID=51. For
poison emergencies,
call the ISPCC at 1-800-222-1222.
