Board of Trustees
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Iowa Pharmacy Association’s Board of Trustees is the governing body responsible for advancing the goals and objectives of the Association. It is the responsibility of the Board to maintain an environment for performance by the entire Association staff and membership. Every board member shares this responsibility. The Board shapes the Association’s personality, defines its goals, and charts its future. The board accomplishes this through strong cooperation and awareness of the needs, desires and attitudes of its members. It is the board’s responsibility to do as much as possible to ensure that information flows in both direction between board members and Association members. The Board meets for a retreat in July of each year; meets in October, February and April at the IPA office in Des Moines; and at the annual meeting in June. Trustees serve a term of two (2) years. Timeline for Election of Board Members:
April/May The Nominations Committee slates candidates for election to the Board of Trustees in the following year.
June The Nominations Committee Report is ratified by the IPA House of Delegates at the Annual Meeting.
March The election for officers and trustees is held.
June The elected board members begin their term of office.
