The Iowa Pharmacy Association (IPA) provides educational programming to advance pharmacy practice, enhance the knowledge of pharmacy practitioners, and enhance the quality of pharmaceutical care provided to patients. Education provided by the Association utilizes contemporary adult learning strategies and provides the most current information available regarding medication therapy and issues related to the practice of pharmacy.
IPA’s ability to provide quality educational programming and other informational services to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy students in Iowa depends on the support it receives from organizations and companies who do business with the pharmacy profession. IPA provides these organizations and companies with unique opportunities to enhance business relationships and create new partnerships with pharmacy professionals in the state.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Leadership Pharmacy Conference Since 1989, the Annual Leadership Pharmacy Conference
has served as a unique opportunity for pharmacists in Iowa and Wisconsin
to participate in leadership programming aimed at enhancing personal and
professional growth.
Regional Rallies
The purpose of Regional Rallies is to provide an
opportunity for networking with pharmacists in your area of the state as
well as IPA Board Members. Grassroots communication and an informal
setting will allow ample opportunity for discussion on current issues.
Immunization Administration Training In order for a pharmacist to administer influenza or pneumococcal immunizations via protocol, they must participate in an immunization administration training program that complies with current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guidelines and provides instruction and experiential training. IPA’s
program meets these criteria and is offered yearly for pharmacists
interested in administering immunizations.
Diabetes Update The Annual Diabetes Update is sponsored by the Iowa Pharmacy Association and Drake University College of Pharmacy. This program focuses on the delivery of care and therapeutic advances in the treatment and management of diabetes in patients. Sponsorships and exhibit opportunities are available.
Senior Care Conference This multi-disciplinary conference focused on issues related to care of residents in assisted living and long-term care facilities. Sponsorships and exhibit opportunities are available.
Educational Expo This yearly program is IPA’s largest educational offering. With ½ day and full day workshops on Friday and multiple breakout sessions on Saturday and Sunday, this program offers many opportunities for program sponsorship and exhibit hall presence. Programming for pharmacy students is also a large part of this weekend.
Legislative Day This educational and
advocacy conference focuses on legislative and regulatory issues
discussion.
Pharmacy Technician Educational Forum This annual conference is designed specifically for pharmacy technicians to network and learn about areas of interest in the practice of pharmacy. Certified pharmacy technicians can obtain continuing education credits, including the required law credits, by attending the conference programs.
IPA Annual Meeting This meeting features the House of Delegates, Keynote presentations, awards presentations, and leadership recognition. Sponsorship and exhibit opportunities are available.
Eggleston-Granberg Golf Classic You are invited to join Drake University and The University of Iowa Colleges of Pharmacy, and the Iowa Pharmacy Foundation at the Annual Eggelston-Granberg Golf Classic. The event honors the contributions and commitment to pharmacy students by Max Eggleston and Boyd & Peg Granberg, and brings together alumni and friends for fun and recreation with a purpose – to help educate the next generation of pharmacists. All proceeds benefit scholarship funds for pharmacy students at Drake University and The University of Iowa Colleges of Pharmacy. Hole sponsorships, in addition to specialty sponsorships, are available.
