the Iowa Pharmacy Association
is published quarterly and is distributed to IPA members as a
regular membership service paid for through allocation of membership
dues. Subscription rates are available by contacting Nicole Schultz

The Journal of the Iowa Pharmacy Association is transitioning
to a peer-reviewed journal beginning in 2009.
Great
advancements in the quality and credibility of The Journal
are being made due the contributions of authors and peer-reviewers
across the state.
Becoming a peer-reviewer of the IPA Journal:
IPA is currently looking to its membership to help advance The
Journal of the Iowa Pharmacy Association to become a
peer-reviewed journal. If you have an area of knowledge, please
consider contributing your expertise and becoming a peer-reviewer.
Information about being a peer-reviewer:
-
As
a peer reviewer you will only be asked to peer-review up to two
articles every 12 months.
-
As peer reviewer, you will have 2 weeks to review an article.
-
Online training via webcast is available for pharmacists interested
in becoming reviewers.
-
Not all journal content will be peer reviewed. Submitted articles,
review articles, Therapy Update and In Print articles will be peer
reviewed. (News articles, editorials, interviews will not be peer
reviewed).
Step 1
Complete
the survey to indicate your areas of
expertise. Journal articles will be sent out to
peer-reviewers based on areas of expertise indicated.
Step 2
Complete the
webcast training session which details how to peer-review
journal articles. This session was conducted via a live webcast on
Monday July 14, 2008. Geoff Wall, PharmD, BCPS, Associate Professor
of Pharmacy Practice at Drake University College of Pharmacy and
Health Sciences and current IPA Board of Trustees member, provided
instruction through the webcast training.
