The Robert G. Gibbs Distinguished Pharmacist Award is presented to a pharmacist in recognition of outstanding contributions to the profession of pharmacy and the Iowa Pharmacy Association. The recipient receives a recognition plaque and their name is included on a master plaque at the IPA headquarters. In addition, a five-hundred dollar scholarship grant is awarded to an Iowa- based college of pharmacy. The Distinguished Pharmacist Award, the highest recognition provided to a pharmacist by IPA, was initiated in 1979 in honor of IPA's past Executive Officer, Robert G. Gibbs, who served the Association from 1959-1979.
