The last substantial revision to the Iowa Pharmacy Practice Act occurred in 1986. As the practice of pharmacy has evolved, states have taken legislative and regulatory action to ensure pharmacists can practice at the top of their license. In this effort, IPA seeks to modernize the current Pharmacy Practice Act, as well as create a new Pharmacist Practice Act that aligns with other health professions and allows for professional autonomy. This Practice Act Task Force Open Hearing seeks to obtain feedback from a range of stakeholders on our modernization efforts.
