IPA Names Will Evans as its 2018 Executive Intern

Will Evans, a student pharmacist from the University of Iowa, is IPA's 2018 Max W. Eggleston Executive Intern in Association Management.

IPA would like to welcome Will Evans, student pharmacist from the University of Iowa, as the association's 2018 Max W. Eggleston Executive Intern in Association Management. During his 12-week internship, Evans will be actively involved in several association initiatives and events, including IPA's 2018 Annual Meeting.

Evans is originally from Grimes, Iowa and in his time at the University of Iowa, he has been involved with organizations like Student National Pharmaceutical Association and the Free Mental Health Clinic of Iowa City. He has also worked at Hy-Vee for nearly two years.

Evans is passionate about research. During his undergraduate years at the University of Iowa, he was involved with a genetics research lab using fruit flies to investigate seizures. Now, in the college of pharmacy, he is researching community pharmacy access to electronic health records and is interested in understanding how healthcare can become more efficient while improving patient outcomes.

“I have heard great things about IPA and the Max W. Eggleston Executive Intern position,” said Evans. “IPA is truly advancing the field of pharmacy and I am excited to be a part of the association.”

The Max W. Eggleston Executive Internship in Association Management is a twelve-week program held each summer at IPA. Developed in 1978, the internship provides an educational experience in professional association management and broad exposure to the professional and educational issues confronting the profession of pharmacy. It is supported by the IPA Foundation.
