IPA’s Annual Meeting is an opportunity for you to join your pharmacy colleagues from across the state to participate in the policy adoption process in the House of Delegates, network with Iowa’s pharmacy leaders, recognize your colleagues’ achievements and celebrate the past year!

Lodging

Reserve your room at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown before May 16 to secure room block rate of $129.00. Make your online reservation at the IPA Annual Meeting group rate HERE.

UPDATE: The IPA block is full for Friday night (June 8) however rooms are still available at the Marriott for their normal rate of $189. IPA has secured overflow rooms at the new Hilton Des Moines Downtown for the $129 rate. Reservations need to be made by May 25. The Hilton is accessible from the Marriott through the skywalk system.

Continuing Education

Several Annual Meeting sessions are accredited for CPE for both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. In addition, two half-hour webinars covering policy topics to be discussed in the House of Delegates will be made available prior to Annual Meeting. CPE information and the webinars will be available soon.   
 

House of Delegates

The House of Delegates is IPA’s policy-making body and is composed of members from across the state. The House will act on policy recommendations brought to it by standing committees and individual delegates.
 

President’s Reception & Annual Banquet

Celebrate, socialize and enjoy a great meal together as we install Cheryl Clarke as the 140th President of the Iowa Pharmacy Association. Prior to Cheryl’s inaugural address, we will present our most prestigious awards!
 

IPA Awards

IPA will present its annual awards throughout the weekend. See the full Annual Meeting agenda (coming soon) for details.
 

IPA Foundation Silent Auction

Friday evening will conclude with the popular IPA Foundation Silent Auction to support the Foundation’s educational and student programs.
 
If you or your pharmacy would like to donate to the silent auction, please contact Laura at lmiller@iarx.org and provide a short description and approximate value (if available) of the item(s) you plan to donate.  While items will be accepted up through the weekend of Annual Meeting, in order to have your item listed in the silent auction catalog, please notify Laura prior to June 1.
 

Poster Presentation Submission

Poster presentations will occur on Friday, June 8, 1:00-2:30 p.m. IPA’s poster presentation showcases original projects or research that advance the practice of pharmacy in Iowa. Posters are judged and the winner is presented with an award during the 2nd session of the IPA House of Delegates on Saturday morning. Submit a poster abstract here. Abstract submissions are due by May 31, 2018.
