This section compiles all pertinent areas of the Iowa Code (laws) and the Iowa Administrative Code (rules) that have any impact across all areas of pharmacy practice. The regulations in this section are compiled from various state agencies, including: Board of Pharmacy, Iowa Medicaid, Iowa Insurance Division, Board of Health, and other health profession boards.
Changes occur regularly to the laws and regulations that impact the profession of pharmacy. This tool tracks the rule-making process from Notice of Intended Action to final adoption, and includes actions taken on the rule, published rule-making documents, effective dates, background on the rule, and its impact on your practice.
This section brings together the most commonly asked questions regarding pharmacy practice in Iowa. Answers are provided to each question with a link to the most appropriate area of the Iowa laws and/or regulations.
The Iowa Pharmacy Association has compiled other tools and resources that help you familiarize yourself with applicable laws and regulations in Iowa.
