IPA Welcomes 2025 Summer Executive Intern Volta Adovor
IPA welcomes Volta Adovor, a 2027 PharmD candidate at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, as the 2025 Max W. Eggleston Summer Executive Intern. As IPA's Executive Intern, Volta will gain experience in all aspects of association work and a broad exposure to the issues impacting the profession.

PBM Reform Passes the Legislature, Advances to the Governor’s Desk
The Iowa House has passed SF 383, a significant pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reform bill, aligning with the Iowa Senate and sending the legislation to Governor Kim Reynolds for final approval.

Iowa Pharmacy Association Urges Lawmakers to Pass SF 383, Reject Amendments by Big Insurance and Big PBMs
IPA urges lawmakers to pass SF 383 and opposes further changes to the legislation. Opponents of Senate File 383, including Big Insurance and Big PBMs, are seeking to propose language to “fix” SF 383, claiming their efforts will support small, independent pharmacies and those in pharmacy deserts. Iowa's pharmacy community—united across small, independent, large, rural, and urban pharmacies—rejects this alternative and opposes any further amendments to SF 383.
