With the second funnel deadline approaching next week, legislation to reign in harmful PBM practices still needs action to remain alive. HF 729 must pass the House and be approved in committee by the Senate to be eligible for further consideration this session. Many pharmacists have reached out to their legislators in the past two weeks to stress how crucial this bill is for pharmacies and patients. The voice of pharmacy has been heard, but the work is not finished.

If you have not done so, please reach out to your legislators to ask for their support and highlight:

  • While PBMs allege transparency will raise patient premiums, this has not been validated in states that have passed similar legislation.

  • PBMs have evolved into behemoth corporations that affect nearly all aspects of the prescription drug marketplace, detrimentally impacting pharmacies and patients.

  • PBM reform is needed to ensure pharmacies can continue serving their patients.
