The IPA Board of Trustees has finalized its 2021-2022 Strategic Plan. This two-year strategic plan includes an updated vision and mission statement, as well as values highlighting collaboration, innovation and inclusivity.
IPA's Strategic Plan includes two thematic areas: Practice Transformation and Amplified Voice. Under Practice Transformation, IPA places strategic emphasis on allowing pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to practice at the highest level of patient care, as well as recognizing pharmacists as healthcare providers with appropriate payment for their services. Under Amplified Voice, IPA will continue to advocate for the pharmacy profession in Iowa, leverage its respected reputation, cultivate critical relationships, and activate an engaged grassroots network to advance pharmacy practice, serve the profession, and ultimately improve health outcomes.
IPA's Executive Vice President and CEO, Kate Gainer, says, “The IPA Board of Trustees considered factors influencing and impacting healthcare delivery, notably the COVID-19 pandemic. The IPA staff will use this strategic plan as a roadmap to guide our resources and efforts as we work for the profession of pharmacy in the year ahead.”
