First Funnel Deadline Approaching

Next week marks the first legislative funnel deadline for the legislature. Bills must be reported out of either House or Senate committees, or they are ineligible for further consideration. The last remaining IPA legislative priority to clear the funnel is IPA's PBM bill
HSB 228. The bill is scheduled to be heard in subcommittee on Monday and is on the full committee agenda for the same day. If you have not yet reached out to your House Representative to ask for their support, please consider doing so. Our grassroots support is the only way to counter the powerful PBM interests opposing this bill.

IPA sent out an Advocacy Alert with talking points and information to find and reach out to your legislator, but do not hesitate to reach out to Casey Ficek at cficek@iarx.org for any assistance needed. HSB 228 intends to limit negative reimbursement for pharmacies, restrict onerous PBM fees, denials and copayments, and afford patients protection from detrimental PBM practices.

If you are interested in learning more about all of the legislation affecting pharmacy that is alive after the first funnel, register for the next Insight to Advocacy webinar next Friday, March 5 at 11:00 am. CLICK HERE to register!

Each week throughout the session, we will keep you updated in the +1 section of the TOP 5. IPA provides a bill tracker, listing all bills IPA is following on behalf of our members.
